AMSA’s girls varsity basketball team put together its most complete performance of the season Tuesday, defeating previously unbeaten Assabet 40-35.

“This was a true team effort,” Eagles coach Dennis Zilembo said. “The team is really starting to come together.”

AMSA, which improved to 4-6 overall, was led by co-captain Allie McNamara (12 points). Lauren Hailey added 9 points, with Annie Higgins contributing 6 points.

Boys Varsity Basketball

Assabet jumped out to a 20-3 lead and never looked back in an 89-52 victory over AMSA on Tuesday.

Ray Grasso scored 32 points for the winners, while Jayden Dummett scored 15 points and Hadar Artzi added 14 points for AMSA.

The Eagles play at home today (5 p.m.) against Blackstone Millville.
