The AMSA Voice

Lexi Ryan

Lexi Ryan, Staff writer

Lexi Ryan is a senior. After teaching herself to read around age 3, she has had
trouble stopping ever since. She has transmuted this love of reading into creative writing and has
received awards for both her story writing and her poetry. Journalism is a new style for Lexi and
she is excited to adapt and learn an entirely different way of writing.

Lexi’s real passion lies in musical theater. She aspires to be on Broadway and has prepared by
participating in countless productions from the local level to nearly a dozen at the professional
level. She has shared her love with the next generation by working as a summer camp counselor
at The Performing Arts Connection for five years, and this year she will be a teaching assistant
for a musical theater class and a youth musical.

Forever a Disney nerd, Lexi has combined her interests and skills in her self-founded business,
Princess Party Pals. She can be found on many a weekend dressed as a beloved princess figure
running children’s birthday parties or volunteering at events. She hopes she can help make a
difference through donating a portion of profits to charity and teaching them positive lessons
while bringing joy into children’s lives.

Lexi loves to eat pasta and Chinese food and in fact holds the accidental family record for most
dumplings eaten in one sitting (33). She has been managing a younger Destination Imagination
team for many years and is equally proud of both their tremendous successes and miserable
failures. In the unimaginable event that she were not tied up with schoolwork, dance, voice, or
theater, Lexi would love to hole herself up in her room with a fantasy novel or a classic piece of
literature or try out an elaborate nail art design.
