The AMSA Voice

Rebecca Perlin

Rebecca Perlin, Senior writer

If you asked Rebecca’s friends how they would describe her, they would probably say compassionate. She cares a lot about her friends, and always tries to put their needs above hers.

Rebecca’s parents would probably describe her as focused. She knows that if she works hard now, it will pay off in the future. She doesn’t know what she wants to do with her life, but whether it’s being a lawyer, a fashion journalist, or an international businesswoman, she’s going to work hard to get there.

But when it comes right down to it, describing Rebecca Jessica Perlin, senior at AMSA, is fairly easy: food-lover, Netflix fanatic, and dancer pretty much covers it. She loves everything and anything that has to do with food, and sushi is one of her favorite dishes.

She has some extracurriculars on the side, such as learning Hebrew at Hebrew school and running the 100 meters and competing in the high jump for the AMSA track team.

Dancing, however, is her favorite pastime. She dances Latin American and contemporary and has competed at multiple college competitions, in which she has placed in the top 10. Dancing is the only time she feels truly happy and relaxed.

She’s still trying to figure out who she is and who she wants to be, but for now, she’s just trying to live life to the fullest.
