AMSA builds five snow days into the schedule that don’t need to be made up at year’s end in the case of school cancellations, but an unusually harsh December and January has forced the school to already use four of those days.

Two more — and the heart of winter hasn’t even hit yet — and the school year will be extended beyond a final day currently slated for June 22.

“I still like the odds,” Executive Director Dr. Anders Lewis said.
