Meyer leads AMSA to victory

Zach Meyer made two free throws with 18 seconds remaining to preserve a 47-44 boys varsity basketball victory over Parker Charter on Monday.
Parker got a good look at a 3-point attempt in the final seconds, but the shot didn’t go. Zach led the Eagles with 18 points, while Derrick Newberry added 11 points. He and Mike Lassalle anchored AMSA early when the Eagles struggled from the floor.
The Eagles have two more games this week, on Wednesday and Friday, both at home.
Girls Varsity Basketball
Arin Smalls scored 15 points, but it wasn’t enough as AMSA lost to Parker Charter 51-44.
Allie McNamara, Erin Gowaski, and Annie Higgins also played well for the Eagles, who fell to 2-5.
Boys Middle School Basketball
AMSA defeated Parker Charter 62-51 behind 18 points from Austin McNamara. Argen Shah and Avi Shah added 13 and 10 points, respectively, for the Eagles, who improved to 4-1.
