Amanda Denney
Amanda is a junior in her first year writing for The AMSA Voice. She came to AMSA in 7th grade, and she is on the Quiz Bowl team and in the National Honor Society. Amanda has also been involved with AMSA Drama and Harry Potter Club.
When Amanda is not at school, she is drawing, writing, reading Brandon Sanderson books, playing violin, stargazing, riding horses, listening to musicals and podcasts, or playing with her dog. She also enjoys Quiz Bowl tournaments and, more recently, socially distant “driveway choirs” in cars.
Amanda has been writing fiction since she was in 1st grade. For the past three years, she has been working on a historical fiction novel, Sweepings of the Street, which she hopes to publish in the near future. She also writes short stories and poetry. Journalism is one of her first steps into nonfiction writing. Amanda wants to contribute to the AMSA community by writing news stories and striving to spread accurate information.
